Tchia's world was a beautiful and wonderful one to create music for, and I am incredibly proud to have been a small part in it.
After careful consideration of track order and flow, the album internally called "Tchia and Tchill" was born (I'm so sorry), a sort of "B-Sides" album featuring many of the more ambient cues I'd written, and allowing us to take a different, more relaxed path than the mainline album's journey of adventure. I simply had to feature their work, somehow. With more than an hour of additional music, we invite you to kick off your sandals, sit back, and relax on your own private island tour with "Tchia: The Beach-Sides".Īs I was putting together Tchia's soundtrack, I began to realize two things: one, presenting the more than four hours of music that I'd written for the game would require a deft touch, and two, the beauty of the ambient environmental audio captured and created by my friends Em, Millie, and Michelle from A Shell in the Pit truly enhanced the experience. Conceived of as a companion piece to the main album, "The Beach-Sides" is a relaxing, chill journey through Tchia's tropical archipelago, focusing on gentle, ambient environmental cues, and presented on a canvas that incorporates the lush sound design of the team of audio wizards at A Shell in the Pit.
